Cat Royale Comprehensive Dataset (CRCD)
Blast Theory
Three years after its initial staging, Cat Royale has now delivered a further research contribution through the development of a technical computer vision dataset based on the raw video footage captured from the artwork’s filming. The Cat Royale Comprehensive Dataset (CRCD) is a Computer Vision dataset leveraging 500 hours of video captured for use in the touring movie and social media highlights. Leveraging expert annotation, and advanced AI tools and pipelines in its creation, this new dataset will enable experts in Computer Vision, Robotics, Animal Behaviour and Art to gain new insights on Cat Royale, enabling future works and greater understanding.
