We are delighted to be supporting a Special Session entitled ‘The Body, and Social Robotics: From the Socio-Technical to Somabotics, an evolving field of research‘  at the 18th ICSR- International Conference on Social Robotics in London, 1–4 July 2026.

Led by Professor Steve Benford, Principal Research Fellow Alan Chamberlain and  Professor Elizabeth Churchill, this special session will push beyond the technical framing of robotics to explore the social nature of the body — asking researchers, artists, and designers to critically reflect on how practices, senses, beliefs, and values shape social robotics.
