A visit from Missy Cummings

Dr Missy Cummings is visiting the University of Nottingham tomorrow and has a busy schedule ahead. Missy is a Professor at the George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, USA and is considered an international expert and leader in the field of autonomous systems. She has written several opinion pieces for agencies like CNN and Wired and recently served as the Senior Safety Advisor to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Her first stop will be at the Cobot Maker Space where Professor Steve Benford will present the Somabotics: Creatively Embodying AI Fellowship and our growing portfolio of projects. After meeting with members of the Cyber-physical Health and Assistive Robotics Technologies Research (CHART) Group, Missy will visit the Living Lab and meet several academic, research and technical staff based within the School of Computer Science. Missy’s last call will be to the Omnifactory and the Advanced Robotic Laboratory based in the Advanced Manufacturing Building.
