Towards the end of 2025 we were delighted to host two visiting researchers to bring new perspectives to our work.

In September we welcomed Henrique Sambi, a UX specialist and MSc student based at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Henrique is supervised by Somabotics Assistant Professor Caroline Y Zheng.

Niels van Velzen, a PhD student from Technische Universiteit Eindhoven visited us in November. His research explores designing for moral emotions with a focus on conversational agents that cultivate awe and wonder in everyday life – connecting humans and non-humans in meaningful ways. Neils had previously supported delivering Embrace Angels at Cinekid Festival in Amsterdam along with his supervisor Professor Minha Lee.
