AI LENS Showcased at International Film Education Congress in Dublin

Somabotics Artist/Researcher Richard Ramchurn is attending CILECT Congress 2026 in Dún Laoghaire, Dublin this October to join filmmakers, educators, researchers and creative practitioners from around the world for a week of discussion, collaboration and innovation in film and media education.

As part of the programme, Richard will present work from the AI LENS project, which explores new approaches to filmmaking through the creative use of artificial intelligence. His contribution will include a presentation on the project, a live demonstration of the AI LENS system, and screenings of three commissioned films created through the project: Basilisk, Amorphous produced by Sumit Sakar, and The Last Call produced by Floyd Parker.

The Congress provides a great opportunity to introduce AI LENS to an international audience of film educators, industry professionals and creative practitioners, showcasing how the project is investigating new relationships between filmmakers, technology and the creative process. By placing AI at the heart of filmmaking experimentation, AI LENS encourages fresh ways of thinking about authorship, storytelling and audience engagement.

In addition, the event offers Richard an important platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange and the opportunity to network with colleagues from film schools and creative institutions worldwide to discuss emerging AI filmmaking practices, share insights from the project, and explore opportunities for future collaboration.
